Sally Walsh Logan "Mummy", "Mustang Sally", "Mimi", 79, died Saturday after a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late Edward F. Logan, Sr., loving mother of Jennifer Miller and her husband Steve of Needham, Edward F. Logan, Jr. of New York City, Kathleen Logan-Harrod and wife Bernadette Harrod of Orleans, MA, Mary Kay Rourke formerly of Amesbury, MA, and the late Ann Logan, grandmother of Nick and Sarah of Needham, Sgt. Logan Rourke, United States Army and Mary Kate Rourke of Hawaii, Harrison and Mitchell Corthell of Maine and Taylor Logan-Harrod of Orleans, MA., sister to the late Helen Nelson of Connecticut, Maribeth Fessenden of New Jersey and Kay Zimmerman of Colorado, aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brother, George Walsh of Andover and his wife Martha, brothers in-law George Fessenden of New Jersey and Ed Zimmerman of Colorado. Sally was raised in Andover, MA and attended high school at the Villa Augustina in Goffstown, NH. She graduated in 1955 at the top of her class from the Boston College School of Nursing. She played for the BC Eagle's Women's Basketball team and held many leading roles in the schools theatre productions. She became a Golden Eagle in 2005. During her almost 50 years of nursing, Sally worked at Boston City Hospital, the Hebrew Rehab, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, provided private duty nursing care and completed her last 20 years as a City of Boston school nurse. Sally touched the lives of so many. She will be forever missed and memories of her will be cherished always. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham on Friday, March 8th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham on Thursday from 4 – 7 PM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers donations in Sally's name may be made to the Boston College c/o Cadigan Alumni Center, 140 Commonwealth Ave Chestnut Hill MA 02467 (in memo CSON in memory of Sally Logan).
