William Frederic Hines passed away June 6th 2017 after a life of 92 years. Bill was born on November 29th 1925 in Dedham the son of John Edward Hines and Viola Ormond. He grew up in Dedham and married his high school sweetheart Evelyn Thomas in 1949. They remained marred till her death in 2014 some 65 years. He was a devoted husband and missed his wife terribly the past several years. Bill enlisted in the United States Navy as a naval aviator assigned to the Navy's experimental unit where he was a test pilot. He served during World War Two from 1942 to 1946 and in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He flew F4U Corsairs in the Navy and loved flying despite experiencing a plane crash making him a disabled veteran. He maintained his pilot's license during his civilian years. After service Bill went to work in the insurance Industry working for various companies moving across the country ending up as President and Chairman of James S. Kemper & Company in Boston. Bill loved golf. He was a member of the Needham golf club until his knees gave out. He loved to read and write poetry. His poems covered many subjects but mostly were mostly about his love for his wife. Bill was predeceased by his two brothers and sister, John and Henry and Connie and his beloved wife Evelyn. He is survived by both his sons: William Fredric Hines Jr of Needham Massachusetts and John Scott Hines of Dover, Massachusetts. He has two grandchildren John William Hines and Jennifer Nicole Hines each from Needham Massachusetts. Bill did not want a wake preferring to be buried at the National Cemetery in Bourne Massachusetts.
