Valerie (Farmer) Boynton of Newton, one of the first matrons appointed to the Newton Police Dept., died on Sept 26, 2017. She was 98
Val was born in Toccoa, GA and had lived in Newton since 1938. She worked as a matron and traffic supervisor, primarily at the Underwood School, for the Newton Police Dept. retiring in 1991 after 42 years of service. She had been a member of the Eliot Church in Newton.
Val was the wife of the late William Reese Boynton, the loving mother of Sandra MacDonald and her husband Dan of Newton and the late James E. Boynton. Loving grandmother of Wayne Walton, William MacDonald and Joseph MacDonald, great grandmother of Tim, Eric, Jessica, Dillon, Danielle, William and Jaime and great great grandmother of Tyler, and sister of Loyce Akers of Vero Beach FL.
Her funeral service will be held on Tues Oct 3 at 10:30 AM in the Eliot Church 474 Centre St Newton Corner. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St Newton Corner on Mon 4-7 PM. Interment Newton Cemetery.
