Terence F. Hughes 6/8/1937 – 5/20/2018. Dear husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many passed away after a recent illness on May 20, 2018. Born in New York City, he grew up in Needham and lived in Dover, Medfield, Falmouth and Mashpee. He graduated from Needham High School in 1955 and then served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves from 1955-1963. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and spent 50 years as a Sales Representative for Kelek, Cutler-Hammer-Eaton, and Controller Services & Sales Inc. He enjoyed wood working and building and spent a short time in the building business with Hughes Keene Co. He loved boating and fishing with his friends and family and also enjoyed golf, pool, cards and traveling.
He was the loving husband of Diane Hughes, loving father to daughter Lori Hunter and her companion Tim Stanton, son Kevin Hughes and his wife Beth Hughes, granddaughters Amy Hunter and Kimberly Hunter and his pre-deceased son Terence F. Hughes Jr. and son-in-law John Hunter. He also leaves his brother Joseph R. Hughes Jr., sister-in-law Faye Hughes, and four nieces and their extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Parish, 3 Job's Fishing Rd, Mashpee, MA 02649, Thursday, May 24th at 10:00 AM followed by a reception in the Parish hall. Burial will be private at Needham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Waquoit Bay Reserve Foundation, P.O. Box 3522, Waquoit, MA 02536
