Romualdas Skvarcius, PhD, "Rom", of Chestnut Hill, died peacefully after a brief but rapid decline in his health. Survived by his wife, Dianne (Sack)Skvarcius of Needham and his children; Erika Cummings of Franklin, Ken Skvarcius of Raleigh, NC and Andrew Skvarcius of New York, NY and grandchildren; Brianna & Jacob Cummings and Maxwell Skvarcius. Rom was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to classical music and loved to cook. Dr. Skvarcius was not only a Professor of Mathematics & Computer Science, but was also fortunate enough to have the privilege of traveling the world during his time as Dean of Metropolitan College at Boston University, and was able to share those experiences with his family, which left memories to cherish for a lifetime. A Memorial Gathering will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Monday, April 24th from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rom's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
