Rinaldo Curcio, 88, was born in Lamezia Terme, Calabria, Italy on October 28, 1928, son of the late Giuseppe Curcio and Maria Bernardi. As a young man, he joined the Carabinieri in Italy, helping to clean up after the war. He then had an adventurous life in Australia, helping to build the railroad, and working for the postal service. In 1968, he emigrated to the United States with his wife and children, settling in Newton. He loved the outdoors. His garden was his pride and for many years he enjoyed long walks on the streets of Newton and beyond. He leaves behind his children and their families. Maria Curcio of Newton. He was the brother of the late Antonio Curcio and Rosarina Stella of Italy. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham, on Saturday morning from 9:15 – 10:00, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, 270 Elliot St, Newton Upper Falls, at 10:30.
