Air Force Emblem

Ralph F. Gaita, of Norton, formerly of Walpole, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Norwood Hospital. He was 87 years old. Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Angelo and Rose (Schena) Gaita. Ralph was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, attended Burdett Business School and graduated from Northeastern University. He was a US Air Force Korean War Veteran. He worked for many years at Blue Cross/Blue Shield in provider relations and retired from the Commonwealth of Mass Dept. of Welfare. He was a member of Toastmasters and the Attleboro Elks. He was a collector of model cars and planes. Ralph enjoyed cruises was never happier than when he was on a cruise with Carol, his wife. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol (Johnson) Gaita and the loving father of Denise Nietzel and her husband Steven of Walpole and Michele Gaita of Norton. Ralph is also survived by his Beloved Granddaughter Jackie Mustafa of Taunton. Brother of Paul Gaita and his wife Lillian of Middleboro and the late James Gaita. Uncle of Christina and Paul Gaita. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Saturday, June 3rd at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Saturday morning only from 9:30 to 10:45. Interment is Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ralph's name may be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Ln, Hyannis, MA 02601.
