Phyllis E. (Kendig) Caruso of Waltham, formerly of Newton, passed away on Jan. 10, 2017 at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was 81.
Phyllis was a graduate of Newton High School and had worked as a travel agent at Arriva Travel in Newton Corner. She was an avid reader and fan of all Boston sports teams. She loved her family and spending time with her granddaughters, knitting, poetry, music, spending time at the beach. She also had a special love of animals.
She was the loving mother of Jodie Chicco of Waltham and Julie Kelly and her husband William of Natick and devoted grandmother of Casey and Caitlyn Kelly. Sister of Rea Kendig and his wife Rose of Burlington and the late Richard Kendig and his surviving wife Loretta formerly of Newton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre St., NEWTON CORNER, on Sat., Jan. 14 at 10 AM followed by a service in the Newton Cemetery Chapel at 11 AM. Visiting hours are Fri. 4-7.
