Patricia C. Johnson, 95, of Needham, formerly of Wellesley, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 21, 2017 at her home at North Hill. Pat was the devoted wife of Robert L. Johnson, who predeceased her in 1994. Her brother, Joseph Cort, passed away in 1998. Pat leaves her sister, Janice Benedict, and husband Robert of Loveland, Colorado. Pat was the loving mother of Philip and Katherine. Phil Johnson predeceased his mother in 2016. Pat is survived by Phil's wife, Joanne Davenport Johnson of Wellesley. She also leaves her daughter, Katherine Maly Fellows, and her husband Jef, of Wellesley and Rye, NH. Pat's son-in-law, George Maly, predeceased her in 2001. Pat also leaves her sister-in-law, Dorothy Johnson, of Stuart, FL. A loving and very supportive grandmother, Pat adored her five grandchildren, her most precious legacy. She leaves Heather Magnan and her husband JP of Mamaroneck, NY, Greg Johnson and his wife Lauren of Charlestown, MA, Tim Maly and his wife Jessica of Menlo Park, CA, Erik Maly and his wife Kate of Rye, NH, and Geoff Maly and his wife Annika of Enterprise, OR. Pat also is survived by 7 great-grandchildren and nieces Gayle Turner of Pinole, CA and Lauren Turner of Vancouver, WA. Pat was born in Lake Mills, WI in 1921 to Joseph and Isabelle Cort, and she was raised in Reading, MA. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1943 and married Major Robert Johnson in 1945. The Johnsons moved to Wellesley in 1953 and raised their two children there. Pat and Bob gave their children unwavering support and love through the years. When her children were in their teen years, Pat returned to school at Northeastern and earned her certification in Special Education. She worked at the Hardy School in Wellesley for many years. Pat enthusiastically shared her love of golf, birds, and nature with her grandchildren, and was an ardent cheerleader for their many activities. Pat and Bob spent cherished time together in their retirement years at their homes in Quechee, VT and Sarasota, FL. They travelled extensively, and after Bob's passing, Pat continued her traveling with numerous friends. Pat moved to North Hill in 1997, and led an active life there until recent illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Pat's honor may be given to the Massachusetts Audubon Society: Fund for Nature, Mass Audubon, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773. Pat's family will hold a private service to honor her life at a future date.
