Stained Glass Emblem

Marilyn M. (Messier) Jones of Needham, passed away on Thursday March 29, 2018.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Ulric and Rhea (Mercier) Messier. Marilyn was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She met her husband-to-be at the age of thirteen. They were married for almost fifty-three years. She learned the family trade of her father and became a hairdresser. She worked in the family shop and then continued to style hair from her home, while caring for her children. She had a gift for speaking to people and everyone was comfortable sharing with her and seeking her advice. She was always a volunteer and worked with different organizations such as, Needham Community Council, Hillside PTC, etc. Her primary volunteer role and devotion was to St. Joseph's Parish. She served through the decades as a Religious Education teacher, Head Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Co-Chairman of the Knit Booth for the Annual Bazaar, served on the Women's Guild and was a valuable member of the prayer line. St. Joseph's has been her Parish since she was eight years old and it has brought her much joy. Marilyn also enjoyed singing, knitting, and being with her family. During the last year she enjoyed bird-watching from her favorite room. She was always a caregiver to her entire family. To know her was a blessing and an honor. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her abounding love for God and others, her smile, compassion and determination will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her.
Beloved wife of William D. Jones. Loving mother of Diane M. Ryan and her husband Bill and the late David D. Jones and his surviving wife Laura. Dear grandmother of Lori Jones, Allison Stering, and Grace Ryan and great grandmother of Nirvana. Sister of Jacqueline Ferrara.
Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham, on Tuesday morning, April 3rd from 10 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham.
