Maria M. (Jasienska) Schroter 94, of Newton, at her home on Monday, October 23, 2017. Beloved wife for 70 years of the late Stanislaw Gustaw Schroter. Born in Warsaw, Poland, Maria was a homemaker, author, poet, WWII Veteran and Ex-Pow. Maria was a private in the Polish Army and was taken prisoner in May of 1944 and was liberated in April of 1945. She was devoted to her family and her faith. She is survived by 5 children: Andrew and wife Olena; Edward; Christina Tramontozzi and husband John; Stanley and wife Carol; John and wife Kimberly. Devoted grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Richard, Stefan, Jamie Lee, Stephen, Madeline, Thomas, Bridget, Sarah, Luke, John and Samuel, great-grandmother to Richard and Ryan Schroter. She was the sister of Elzbieta Jasienska and the late Magdalena (Jasienska) Limanowska and aunt to her late niece Maya Limanowska. Visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Thursday, October 26th from 8:30 to 10am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton, at 10:30am. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Needham.
