Liam P. Cunningham, a lifelong Needham resident, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. He was 27 years old. Liam was a graduate of Needham High School, Class of 2007 and University Rhode Island Class of 2011. He worked as a Development Assistant at the John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton. Liam was also an active participant in Needham youth sports as well as varsity football at Needham High School. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Patriots and spending time on Cape Cod.
Liam is the beloved son of Phil and Sue Cunningham and cherished brother of Katie Cunningham all of Needham. He was dear grandson of Jane and Bernie Powers of Chatham. Liam is also survived by aunts Mary Cunningham of Quincy, Martha Tardif of Yarmouthport, Pamela Tillo of Osterville, Kate Pietropaoli of Yarmouth Maine, and uncles Andrew Powers of Barnstable, Daniel Powers of Dennis and the late Mark and Edward Cunningham. He is survived by many loving cousins and friends. Liam is also survived by his girlfriend Sara Lambert of Needham.
Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351Highland Ave Needham, on Friday, September 30th from 4-8PM. Relatives and friends ae kindly invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1362 Highland Ave Needham, on Saturday at 10AM. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Liam's name may be made to the John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton (newtonbgc.com/donate.php).
