Joan Marie Concannon, 73, longtime resident of Newtonville, MA passed away on December 1, 2015 in Weston, MA.
She was born in Newton on October 29, 1942 the daughter of the late Thomas and Anne (Connolly) Concannon. Joan graduated from Newton High School in 1960, and went on to achieve degrees from State College of Boston '64 and Northeastern University. She dedicated her life to teaching and spent the majority of her career at Brophy Elementary School in Framingham. Joan had a variety of interests ranging from art to golf. She frequently enjoyed time at her family's home in Pocasset and at her home in Meredith New Hampshire throughout her life.

Her surviving members include her siblings Ruth A. Concannon, Nancy Concannon, Thomas B. Concannon Jr., William Concannon (wife Mimi), and her nieces Kate Concannon, Megan McGrath, Sara DeSimone, Maureen McDonald, and Sheila Butze.

A wake will be held at Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Tuesday December 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday December 9 at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady's Help of Christians Church in Newton.
