Jeanne Marie (Rousseau) Powell, of Newton passed away on June 8, 2017. She was 91.
Jeanne was born in Watertown and attended St. Jean's School. She enjoyed organizing variety shows on several air bases as she followed her husband during his military career. She was also a talented self taught piano player.
Jeanne was the daughter of the late Leopold and Marie-Ange (Trottier) Rousseau, and the beloved wife of the late Ret CMSGT Hugh S. Powell, US Air Force. Loving mother of Stephen R. Powell and his wife Nancy of Concord, Massachusetts, Richard D. Powell and his wife Nancy of Natick, Massachusetts and Mary Jane Gould and her husband Richard of Framingham, Massachusetts. Dear grandmother of William S. Hayes, Brian C. Hayes, Catherine M. Baletsa, Christine P. Umina Stephen Gould, Jenna Francesconi, Stephen H. Powell, Lauren E. Powell, Mary K. Harland, Rebecca J. Powell, Jennifer K. Mollenhauer and the late Christopher D. Powell, and great grandmother of 12. Sister of her late Theresa M. Farrell, Pauline Pierson, John L. Rousseau, Marguerite Mannette, Joseph R. Rousseau and Norman A. Rousseau.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visiting hour on Mon June 12 from 9-10 AM in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St Newton Corner followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery.
