Jeanne Allen Goldin (Riley), Born Oct 19, 1933, passed away peacefully at The Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Norwood, MA on Monday, July 17, 2017. Jeanne is survived by her son Richard L. Goldin and his wife Lynn Y. Goldin, also of Norwood. Jeanne was the daughter of Herbert and Helen Riley, Needham, MA. Jeanne graduated from Needham High School and was a member of the class of 1952. She attended Mount Ida College, Newton MA, where she received her Associates Degree. She was appointed President of The Alumni Association Mount Ida College. She worked for Ludlow Corporation, Needham, MA. She later worked at Pine Manor College, Chestnut Hill for many years where she was Assistant Vice President of Operations. She later worked for Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA as a research grants administrator.
Jeanne was a generous and giving person. She loved The Boston Red Sox and enjoyed The Boston Pops, and The Boston Symphony Orchestra. Jeanne was appointed the first woman member of The Lions Club. Jeanne spent her retirement years at her home in Sandwich, MA, Cape Cod. Jeanne loved the Cape and enjoyed gardening, needle point, and ancestral research. She discovered many interesting historical facts in relation to her family and their contributions to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Jeanne was an avid world traveler and visited many lands including Patagonia, Brazil, The Amazon, Chile, Argentina, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, The Black Sea, Turkey, Poland, England, France, Scotland, Ireland, Israel and Egypt. Jeanne leaves two grandchildren, Richard Jr. and Rachel Marie plus many cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham, on Wed from 4-7 PM. Flowers will be accepted.
