Janet M. (DeArmas) Marchant of Newton Centre passed away on Apr 1, 2015 at Epoch Senior Healthcare in Weston. She was 84.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Janet had been a resident of Newton since 1970. She graduated from Boston University and had been a longtime active member of the Newton Highlands Congregational Church, where she had served as a Deacon. Janet was an active in promoting equal rights, and an avid Red Sox fan. Her interests included lighthouses and music and she enjoyed camping and canoeing. She was also an avid walker and member of the Highland Walkers.
Beloved wife of William E. Marchant Jr. and loving mother of Clark F. Edrehi of NY, NY, Charles J. Edrehi and his wife Pamela of Framingham, Madelena G. Marchant of Newton and William E. Marchant III of Billerica. Grandmother of Jena-renee Edrehi, Christina Lee Edrehi, Sophia G. Marchant and Katya L. Marchant. Sister of Joseph DeArmas and his wife Marta of San Diego CA. She is also survived by a niece, 5 nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Wed Apr 8 at 11 AM in the Newton Highlands Congregational Church Lincoln St Newton Highlands. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Tues from 4-8 PM. Interment is private.
