Jane E. Beighley, 88, passed away on February 2, 2017, in Needham, MA.
She is predeceased by her late husband, Carl Beighley, who passed away in 1957. A private graveside burial service will be held at the Newton Cemetery, on Monday, February 6, with her family in attendance, per her wishes.
Jane graduated from Newton High School and became an expert medical transcriber focusing on general medicine and women's health at the Waltham Hospital, arthritis and rheumatoid diseases at the Robert Brigham Hospital, and bone radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, from where she retired in 1990. She created beautiful needlework in knit, crochet, embroidery, and cross-stitch; adored her pet cats and all animals; enjoyed homemaking; and was a much-loved mother and friend to her children.
Jane is survived by her beloved sister, Ruth M. Breakey, of West Newton; and devoted children, Bruce C. Beighley, of Waltham and Lynne Beighley Abell, of Plymouth.
The family wishes to thank Wingate at Needham, with heart-felt thanks to Jane's special CNA, Mertho; and Seasons Hospice, for palliative care.
