James Francis O'Neil, Jr., 75, Lecanto, FL passed away February 24, 2017 in the Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast. Jim was born in Newton, MA on September 29, 1941 to the late James F. and Marie (Sullivan) O'Neil, Sr. He came to Florida in 2003 from Plymouth, MA. He was an accountant, having worked for Beverly Hospital and others during his professional career. Jim served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was of the Catholic Faith. An avid and proficient golfer, he enjoyed watching all sports, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Most importantly, he was devoted to his wife, Mary, their two children, and grandchildren. Left to mourn their loss is his wife of 48 years, Mary Lynch O'Neil; two children, Kevin O'Neil and his wife Robyn of Needham, MA; Kellie O'Neil Olson of Citrus Springs, FL; 1 sister, Brenda Palmer, Needham, MA; 4 grandchildren, Jonathan Romero, Tyler Olson, Brooke and Dillon O'Neil. Jim was the brother of the late John O'Neil and Margaret Putnam. Visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Monday March 6th from 4-7PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1362 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday, March 7 at 10AM.
