Gertrude "Trudy" Goode of Needham, died on Friday, November 17, 2017 at The Tippett Hospice Home in Needham. Trudy was 86. She grew up in the Warrendale area of Waltham where she attended Waltham schools and worked for the New England Telephone Company and Reese Corporation before marrying her husband of 64 years, the late Joseph "Joe" Goode. Trudy and Joe lived in Warrendale for years bringing up their family. They retired to Falmouth, MA and then moved back to Needham. Trudy was an avid reader, talented knitter, a poet, loved movies and was a great cook. She had a witty sense of humor and a keen sense of style. She was creative and kind. Trudy volunteered for the PTA and loved to entertain. Her proudest accomplishment was her family. She leaves her four children; Joe "Randy" of Waltham, Tim and his wife Kathleen (Noone) of Weston, Chris of Alexandria, VA, and Amy and her husband John Simeone of Needham. She leaves five loving grandchildren; Timothy Jr., and Jacqueline Goode and Christopher, Sarah and Charlie Simeone. Trudy also leaves her beloved sister-in-law, Marie (Goode) Maguire, her cherished cousin Beverly Corso and dear friends, caregivers and nieces and nephews. It was Trudy's wish to donate her body to Lewy Body Research. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday November 21st from 4-7 pm. Following her wishes, the burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Lewy Body Dementia research may be mailed to the Alzheimer Disease Center, 54 Miller Street, Quincy MA 02169.
