Lt. Colonel Frank H. Dippo, Jr., US Army, retired, passed away on September 18, 2016.
Frank attended the University of Iowa and was a graduate of Boston University. He remained a lifelong "Hawkeye". Mr. Dippo was a US Army World War II and Korean War Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired from the Army with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary Jane (Barry) Dippo. He is survived by his loving children and their spouses, Susan Rossi and her husband Paul, Kathleen Purcell and her husband Kevin, Charles Dippo and his wife Diana Hrycyk and Mary Ellen Manning and her husband Kevin and 10 grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his brother Robert E. Dippo and his wife Judy of Boulder CO, as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thursday September 22nd from 4-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, 270 Elliot St, Newton Upper Falls, on Friday, September 23rd at 10:30 AM, followed by interment with Military Honors at St. Mary's Cemetery in Needham.
