Ellen Balkus was born on February 7, 1918 and died peacefully at the age of 100 in Waban Health Center in Newton, on April 7, 2018. She was the only daughter of Joseph and Eva Balkus from Lithuania. Ellen was predeceased by her brothers: William, Albert, B. William, Stephen, Joseph, and John. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong resident of Newton Upper Falls, and a life member of Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Parish. Ellen worked at Sherman Paper Products in Newton Upper Falls for 45 years from which she retired. Visiting hour will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham on Friday, April 27th from 6-9pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, 270 Elliot St NEWTON UPPER FALLS, on Saturday April 28 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
