Donna L. (Barisano) Greymont passed away on Sunday November 27, 2016 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by her family and friends. She was 53 years old. Donna is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Douglas Greymont, and her cherished children Samantha and Douglas Greymont Jr. She is the dear sister of David Barisano, Dori Duffy and her husband Michael and Douglas Barisano and his wife Kristina. She is also survived by 7 nephews Michael and Brett Duffy, David, Joseph and Nicholas Barisano, and Dominic and Franco Barisano.

Donna was born in Newton, Massachusetts on May 5, 1963 to the late Joanne (Mancini) Dominic Barisano Jr. She was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1981 and Framingham State University.

For over 20 years, Donna worked as a faculty member at Paulette's Ballet Studio in Newton, MA, and recently joined the faculty at A. Fine Dance Studio in Needham. She coached the Needham High School Varsity Dance Team for 10 years. Donna touched the lives of each and every one of her students with her patience, positivity, and love of dance. Hundreds of dancers grew to admire her infectious spirit, and genuine nature.

Donna's love for life was contagious and she made a lasting impression on every person she met with her tremendous optimism. Her friends and family meant everything to her.

Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave., Needham, on Thursday, December 1 from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Saint Joseph Church, 1362 Highland Ave., Needham, on Friday, December 2 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A Reception will follow at the Needham VFW.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Donna's name to the Dizzy Feet Foundation. We believe that this gift will honor her love of children, teaching and dance education. They say that every $50 donation funds one student's dance education for one whole year. Our support will help allow more students the beautiful gift of dance.

Dancing is proven to lower stress, increase happiness, and increase mental health. Dancing is proven to produce higher self-esteem and a more positive outlook on life. Dancing can stimulate the mind and ward off alzheimer's, dementia, and keeps the brain active at all ages. Kinesthetic activities assists learners in overcoming problems with processing information. Dance can impact and even facilitate learning in other subject areas such as math, "reading, science, and social studies. Dance activities provide deeper comprehension and more visible engagement in the learning process itself. Dancing is the only form of physical activity said to offer protection against dementia.
