David R. "Dave" Johnson, of Needham beloved husband of Anne "Nancy" Connolly Johnson, devoted brother of Peter Johnson and Deborah Courtney. Loving brother in law to Joan Johnson, S. John and Patricia Connolly, Charles T. Connolly and the late Thomas D. Connolly, Jr. Uncle extraordinaire to Meredith Johnson, Al Lavoie, Charlie, Meghan, Kate, and Ned Connolly, Andrew Courtney, Jennifer Courtney-Keyse, Tom, Will, Ben and Ned Keyse. Son of the late Leonard and Barbara Johnson.
Honored in high school as a participant in the Boy's State leadership and citizenship program and a graduate of Northeastern University, Dave retired after a forty seven year career as a manufacturer's representative in the security industry. He viewed his professional role to be an educator. Throughout his life Dave's goal for every day was to make someone smile.
Dave lovingly shared his mechanical and troubleshooting skills with anyone in need. He volunteered his skills to help in the adaptive program at Community Rowing receiving great joy in making it possible for everyone to get out on the water. Dave also served as a member of the Northeastern University College of Professional Studies Scholarship Committee helping students achieve their dream of earning a college degree.
Our thanks and gratitude to the medical personnel, caregivers, neighbors and dear friends who helped Dave and our family.
A gathering to honor Dave will take place in Maine in the summer.
