Bernadine "Bunny" Lawyer, formerly of Windsor and Simsbury CT, died April 22 in Wellesley MA at the age of 85.
Bunny was the beloved wife of the late Lloyd D. Lawyer and the mother of four children: Catherine Corbett and her husband Michael of Needham, MA; Michael Lawyer and his wife Gina Del Savio of New Windsor, NY; Rebecca Capaul and her husband Greg of Golden, CO; and Betsy Volg and her husband Ken of Granby, CT. She was the beloved grandmother of 11 children: Katie, Matt and Nick Corbett; Sam and Jacob Lawyer; Jesse, Nick and Natalie Capaul; and Chris, Lisa and Liz Volg. Bunny also leaves her brother-in-law George Morison of West Hartford, CT, one niece and four nephews. Bunny was the daughter of the late Bernard and Mae Graff, and grew up in Amsterdam, NY. She graduated from Kings County Hospital Nursing School in Brooklyn NY. After she married Lloyd and raised her family, she returned to her nursing career and worked as a nurse at Mclean Health Center in Simsbury CT until her retirement. Bunny loved her family, her friends, gardening, playing bridge, and all animals, especially dogs.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated for her on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel's Church in Windsor, CT.
