Anne S. "Nancy" Concannon, 85, longtime resident of Newtonville, MA passed away on December 25, 2016 in Weston, MA.
She was born in Newton on July 1,1931 the daughter of Thomas and Anne (Connolly) Concannon.
She graduated from Newton High School in 1949, and went on to achieve degrees from Framingham State University, 1953, with additional degrees from Boston University and Simmons College.
She dedicated her life to teaching and spent the majority of her career at the Michael Driscoll Elementary School in Brookline. Nancy loved traveling, swimming and water aerobics. She was happiest spending time at her summer home in Pocasset, MA. She would tell you her favorite thing to do would be to read a book in bed while listening to the rain outside her window. She was known for her infectious laugh which could be heard even in her last days.
Her surviving members include her siblings Ruth A. Concannon, Thomas B. Concannon Jr., William Concannon (wife Mimi), and her nieces Kate Concannon, Megan McGrath, Sara DeSimone, Maureen McDonald, and Sheila Butze.
A wake will be held at Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home on January 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 3rd at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Help of Christians Newton.
