Alice Thompson Schnadt, 96, of Needham Massachusetts, passed away on March 24, 2018 in Needham. Born in 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Zella Thompson, Alice lived most of her life near Chicago, primarily residing in Bartlett, Illinois. Alice met her husband Ray Schnadt while commuting each day on the train from Bartlett to Chicago. Alice and Ray married on the Northwestern University Campus in 1950. Upon her husband's retirement, Alice happily resided in Green Valley, Arizona for thirty years and most recently in Needham, Massachusetts.
Alice was a graduate of Hirsch High School in Chicago and attended Principia College before becoming an administrative assistant at Leo Burnett Advertising in Chicago. Throughout her life, Alice was very involved in local community work including her position as volunteer of history at the Titan Missile in Arizona. Alice was a member of the garden clubs of Arizona and Illinois and loved to spend as much time as she could
enjoying outside activities. Alice truly enjoyed knitting, painting and had a passion for playing bridge. She was also an avid golfer; a love that she shared with her husband, daughter and friends. With Alice' s beautiful smile and grace she formed friendships wherever she lived. Alice is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Schnadt) Wilson, son-in law Nigel Wilson and two nephews and was preceded in death by her husband Ray Schnadt, her parents, her brother Harry and her sister Marybelle.
A graveside service will be held on April 27, 2018 at the Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett, Illinois. Alice's family wishes to thank the staff and care givers at Tippett House, Needham who took such loving care of Alice in her final weeks.
