Alfred J. "Skip" Korzon, of Needham, passed away on October 17, 2017, at the age of 86. A life-long resident of Needham, "Skip," as he was affectionately known, was a respected builder who, along with his brother, Alexander, developed numerous properties in both Needham and Wellesley. "Korzon Houses," many of which still stand today, some for well over 50 years, are known locally to be of the finest construction and craftsmanship. Skip attended Needham High where he was an all-star left wing on the hockey team. He was proud to serve in the USAF overseas during the Korean conflict after which he returned and joined his brother in business. Skip was an avid golfer and fisherman, a member at Walpole Country Club and the Quail Run Golf Club in Naples, Florida. He also enjoyed his time on Cape Cod at the family cottage in Pocasset. But above else, he was a devoted family man. Skip and his beloved wife, Cynthia (Simpson) Korzon, were married for 58 years, sharing both life's joys and challenges. They were beautiful together. Skip is also survived by two sons and their families, Jeffrey and Andrea Korzon and their children, Wes and Kate of Andover and David Korzon and Elizabeth Oliver and their children Margaret and Cleo of Apex, North Carolina. His children and four grandchildren were the great joy of his life. "Grampy Skip" lives on in all of them. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews for whom he had great affection. He is predeceased by his brother, Alexander, and was the cherished son of Joseph D. Korzon and Valeria (Tominsky) Korzon. Funeral Service will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday, October 24th at 11 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 pm. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Needham, 148 Chestnut St, Needham MA 02492.
