David Michael Larkin lost his fight with cancer this past Sunday March 4th, he was 45 year old.
David is survived by his loving mother Judith Larkin, formerly of 489 Commonwealth Ave Newton, MA, as well as his many friends and extended family, including Michael and Luton Piercy of Henderson NV, Tommy and Sandra Piercy of Pennsylvania and Nancy Sidenstricker also of Henderson NV. David himself was a fierce friend to many. Working closely with SJ Torres he opened a number of restaurant establishments including Boston's The Place, The Brickhouse in RI, The Brewery Lane Tavern in Portsmouth NH and the Mad River Tavern in Amesbury Ma. David helped found Dirty Water News, The Boston Nitelife Awards and Boston City Beat Magazine. David had a passion for video production and design, and pioneered the digital DJ era with his role as VJlaptop in the early 2000s. He attended Bentley College and studied Accounting and attended Ward School and Newton North High School in Newton, MA. David was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kittery Maine, Naval Lodge #184.
A graveside service will be held on Fri Mar 9 at 1:30 PM at Newton Cemetery 791 Walnut St. Newton Centre. David believed "Life without motivation is like a car without gas, doesn't matter how nice it looks, it still won't go anywhere".
