Myra Frances (Fairweather), Cawley, Recently of Marblehead MA, resident of Needham MA for 63 years passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018. She was 90 years old. Beloved wife of the late Richard S. Cawley. Loving mother of Bruce E. Cawley and his wife Christine of Marblehead MA. Survived by her sister Alice Fairweather of Seattle WA, her step-grandson Dean A. Santamaria-Capetanelis and his wife Lisa of Lynn MA, 4 nephews, a niece and their children and grandchildren, as well as a vast network of friends, old and new.
Born in Winthrop MA. Raised in Gloucester, Winthrop and Boston. Graduated from New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1949. Myra served as a staff RN at the New England Baptist Hospital, and New England Medical Center, and as a staff RN and Supervisor at Glover Memorial Hospital (Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham). Former public health RN for the Needham Public School System. Co-founder and first President of the Recovery Room Nurses Association. She retired from an administrative position at Private Healthcare Systems of Waltham MA.
Her family would like to thank the staff at the Devereux House Nursing Home in Marblehead MA for their care and friendship over the past two years of Myra's life.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Eaton Funeral, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Saturday, March 10th, at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 am to 12 noon. Private interment will be held later in spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Myra may be made to UNICEF USA (secure.unicefUSA.org)

Myra was a major force in the lives of those of us who knew her. With genuine compassion and humor she was one who truly led by example. Her interests were many and her heart was huge. We will miss her and remember her forever. R.I.P.

As Mr. Cawley's dentist, I had the pleasure of meeting with Mrs. Cawley many times throughout the years. She was always very pleasant and extremely well liked by the staff.. May she rest in peace.

Myra was an accomplished and successful woman in many spheres of life, and a great inspiration to many, including those lives she only touched briefly, but genuinely and deeply.

Bruce and Christine, I was saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. I enjoyed getting to spend time with her while visiting my Mom Connie. Particularly on Fridays, when they were getting their hair done at Devereux...always thought of it as being a version of STEEL MAGNOLIA. May your many memories comfort you at this time.
