Tribute & Message From The Family

Robert J. White, of West Newton passed away on Jan 13, 2018 at the Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was 79.
Bob was a lifelong Newton resident, graduate of Newton High School and a US Marine Corps veteran. He was a repair technician for New Telephone and later Lucent technologies, and retired after 40 years of service. He was an avid golfer and a member of Newton Lodge of Elks and Newton Council No 167 Knights of Columbus.
He was the beloved husband of wife Alice (Devereaux) White, the loving father of Karen Ottino and her husband Brian of Lynchburg, VA, Stephanie White and Jeff of West Newton the late Robert J. White Jr. and his surviving spouse Susan of Attleboro and "Papa" of Matthew, AJ, Barbara, Joey, Paige, Kimberly, Daniel, and Scott and great grandfather of Emily. He was the brother of the late Donald and William White.
His funeral will be from the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St Newton Corner on Wed Jan 17 at 9 AM followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi-St. Bernard's Church, West Newton at 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery Waltham. Visiting hours are in the funeral home on Tues from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Bob to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or the American Parkinson's Disease Assoc. Mass Chapter, 72 East Concord St, Room C3, Boston, MA 02118 would be appreciated.

Dear Alice, I can't express in a few words how sad Bob's passing is to me. We had many good times together. Remember all the coffee and Sara Lee at our house on Cherry St. We had many laughs together. You and Bob, aka Whitey, aka Dewey. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I miss Bob and Kevin but have so many memories and pictures of happy times.
