I just saw this on line. I am so saddened to read this although he surely had a very long life. I worked for Dr. Dow in 1971 and was known to he and Mrs. Dow as "Miss Carpenter". I was bless to have them at my wedding and also to have them visit after my son Alan was born 41 years ago. I have such wonderful memories of working for him. He was a wonderful man.

through the MGH Neuroendocrine Unit during
his retirement years. I would often alert him of upcoming meetings.

Dear "Aunt Jody" and family: The Burkes will always remember our "Uncle Joe" as one of our father's best friends. I have clearly in my memories listening to your father talk away, telling his anecdotes, while my father leaned back in his chair listening, with his amused grin: Two men who liked to talk giving each other that generosity of a wide ear. I look forward to our families continued friendship with his children's trips to the island. My condolences. Yours, and love, Elizabeth Burke

We will never forget the many visits Eli made to the Trueman's in Newcastle, Maine. Eli had such energy, intelligence and wit. Always welcome company. He was "Interested and interesting" A bright light in our lives and to all he met. My sister and I still sing " Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but Eli!" I can still hear his deep, rich chuckle every time we serenaded him! He will be deeply missed.Wishing Jody and all the family comfort and peace.

Dear Jody,
I am so sorry to hear about Eli. Boston Latin School was very blessed to have such a stellar alumnus. His charm, leadership and devotion ensured that the Class of 1944 was viewed as a very special group. I was truly blessed to know him and well recognize what a great couple you two have always been. My sympathy to you and the family.

My heart goes out to Jody and Eli's family. I loved his curiosity and zest for life. He loved to travel and we swapped stories and information about travel to China and Tibet. He was a boon to his family and to his community . RIP, Eli.

Dear family,

I have known Eli for more than thirty years as we have both been part of the Tufts Medical family. I have admired his commitment and determination to make the Medical school a better place for students and to help provide them with important financial support. I saw him last at a Tufts event in a wheel chair with an obvious disability which did not in the least cause him to lose his enthusiasm for life. My wife and I have enjoyed visiting Eli and Jodi at their beautiful stately home in Brookline.
Our sincere condolences to you.

Dear Jody and family, my sincerest sympathy to you on the loss of Eli, a wonderful man and friend. He and Jack spent so much time together planning all the events for the Class of '44 (the Classy Class). I have many memories of those days and will be remembering them in the days to come. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jody, and your family. Carol Drummey

The entire Senecal family is devastated at the loss of our dear friend, neighbor and doctor Eli Dow. Eli loved our children, our parents and spending wonderful times together not only for holidays but for neighborhood Fisher Hill projects, charity parties, Boston Latin School events and lots more.

Our two sons, Paul and Philip, and our daughter, Toni (whom Eli nicknamed "Chi-Chi beans") loved helping with Eli and Jody's parties and enjoying their beautiful home and grounds and their enthusiasm for life.

Paul and I and our family will forever raise a toast to Eli who represents for us something for which there is no substitute, a good friend.

Lots of love.

I met Dr. and Mrs. Dow through my Uncle, Jack Drummey, at multiple Boston Latin School events. Despite being so busy overseeing these events, Dr. Dow was so gracious to always take a few minutes to chat with me. I am very lucky to have known Dr. Dow from the 'Classy' Class of 1944. Condolences to Mrs. Dow and their Family.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to Jody and the Dow family in regards to the passing of Dr. Eli Dow. He and my father, Dr. Farahe Maloof, were great friends and colleages for many years at the MGH in Boston. I fondly remember the many occasions when Eli and Jody were at my parent's home in Milton, MA for a get together. My prayers and thoughts are being sent to Jody and the Dow family on this difficult occasion. Stay strong. God, the angels and saints will take care of Eli in heaven. Love to all of you.
