Aredis "Konji" "Art" "Coach" Kojoyian Obituary

Coach Kojoyian was a very big influence in my Newton South years. He was an outstanding football coach and leader.

I remember your father from being my Biology teacher at Newton South. He was truly the best teacher I ever had. I am turning 65 next month and I still site examples of his words.

I was enormously saddened to learn of your Dad's passing. Your Dad was a larger-than-life figure in my life. Although it was over fifty years ago, I can still remember him as vividly as if it was yesterday, standing at the other end of the board he laid down on the field and used for blocking practice at Newton South. He transformed my life, and I know so many others' lives, inspiring us to develop strengths

He'd tell us during double sessions that Football is the game of life. I passed the lesson about the value of hard work and commitment -- on to my son when he was first going out for a team, and the lesson was as true for him as it had been for me. Please know how much we looked up to your Dad and how he touched our lives in really powerful ways. I miss him.

Tremendous gentleman, coach and friend. One of a kind...coach will be missed but never forgotten.

Armen and Arty I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great guy, leader, and motivator. He was a man who would get down on the boards, scream, bang with the best and still love you He pushed me to be my best and exceed my potential. I learned a lot on and off the field, wrestling mat and in life from Aredis and thankful for the opportunity.

He was such a wonderful person, whether you had him as a teacher or coach. He always was there for a student. Condolences to his family. Class of 1970 NSHS

My deep condolences to the Kojoyian family; Coach influenced many (including me), and his sayings, including "football is life" and quite a few others still resonate after all these years. RIP to a good man.

Coach Kojoyians' passing is a great loss to all of those lives he touched, whether on the field, in the classroom or giving life lessons to someone caught in the hallways.
