Mitchell Nash of Newton, MA passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on May 19, 2017. Mitch was born January 16, 1967 in Boston and was raised in Newton. He attended Newton North where he was an avid athlete. Mitch was a sportsman all his life and could often be found playing hockey, basketball or baseball in various men's leagues throughout the Boston area. Mitch was the devoted father to his children Owen (13 years) and Nolan (9 years). He is survived by his beloved girlfriend Meghan Thrasher of Brighton. He was the son of the late James Nash. He leaves behind his mother, Theresa (O'Sullivan) Nash of Newton and his siblings Eileen Nash of Newton, Joseph Nash of Pembroke and his companion Rita Ashegh of Lynn, Terry and Laurie Nash of Franklin, John and Mary Jo Nash of Waltham, Mary and Roland Nash-Roy of Maynard, Brian and Vicki Nash of Marlborough and Jamie and Chris Miller of Hudson. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is survived by his former wife Gretchen (Buxbaum) Nash of West Roxbury. Mitch devoted his life to his two boys. He loved spending time with them and spending his free time at "The Camp", he loved being around family and friends. His passion was woodworking which he did with perfection. He was a true artist. Mitchy (as he was known to his siblings) was your all around great guy who was very loved by all that knew him. He will be dearly missed. Visiting hours in the Eaton and Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre St., NEWTON CORNER, on Tuesday, May 23nd from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Wednesday at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mitch's name may be made to a college fund for Owen and Nolan Nash, c/o Margaret A. Nash, 17 Maplewood St., West Roxbury MA 02132.
