Hey there, Steven and Mary Jane! I just happened to be browsing for your dad, and came across this obituary. I'm very sorry; your mom was such a great and gracious lady. I have never forgotten about your folks or you two kids as well.

As an out of sorts guy, along with the rest of my friends of the headquarters squadron there in Germany, your folks were very kind in allowing us to share dinner and friendship with you all at Thanksgiving. It was always a wonderful pleasure being around you guys and your parents.

Your mom was always so delightfully entertaining; her Phyllis Diller routine kind of highlighted that. Truth be said, it was kind of dumb, much in the same way as were our little theater productions. But it was a fun, short escape for a moment away from the military life.

Mary Jane, I know you're married with kids and maybe grandkids, but let me unabashedly say I was crazy about you. You had a smile that never left your face. I'm sure it served you well throughout your life on through today. My congrats to your husband and family, I'm sure you carry-on in the spirit of your parents. Stephen, I'd love to hear what path you chose to take.

At any rate, let me close by saying I wish you all the best. Nice to know you're both out there with families of your own. Hard to believe my friends and I landed in Germany over 50 years ago! Yikes!

( my best friend and roommate from Germany, Tom, along with a few others wrote me a letter that arrived here in 2010. They were trying to track me down. Ironically, my wife, daughter and I had just returned from Germany when their letter arrived. Although it was not planned, our first night was spent in a town on the Rhein, so close to Hahn, we made the drive. Boy, what a rush of history slammed through my head. Along with thoughts of my old friends, the memories of your family we're certainly at the forefront, as well. As of 2012, four or five of us meet every spring in Florida for a week of golf and nonsense. It's living proof that despite our senior appearances, we never really grew up very much).

Remembering all of the treasured memories on Court Street with Pepere, Memere, Auntie Jeannie, Uncle Buddy, Steven, Richard and Mary Jane, my Dad, Uncle Joe, Auntie Ruth as well as myself. So many happy memories of family gatherings together! Auntie Jeannie was loved by all and will truly be missed!
All of our prayers and thoughts are all with you. With our deepest sympathy, Auntie Ruth, cousins, Monique, Kenny, Kenny Jr. and Joey.

Dear Powell Cousins, I am so sorry for your loss. We loved Auntie Jeannie so! Your Mom was a beautiful woman, with a great spirit. I enjoyed spending time with her in Florida in the 90s. During the time when our Mom was hospitalized, she was so supportive to us and my Dad. -She helped in so many ways.

Rest in peace dear Aunt.

i ahve so many memoris of her and bud. I will always remeber her when she lost her wig at the airport in germany bud and i laughted so hard. we had many good times together.may god bless her and i know she willbe so happy ro be with Bud

We are all so sorry for the loss of your Mother. She was a wonderful lady and a great friend to Margaret Deegan for so many years.
